Ten Years

Today is the 10th anniversary of my mother’s death. It would also be her 66th birthday. I’m remembering her, celebrating her, like I always do on this day, but I’m also keeping busy to not let my mind wander.

I thought I had more to say about today, but I don’t, not right now. Maybe at some other point down the road, when I’ve had more time to parse out some stuff in my head.

I love you always, Mami. Thank you for everything, and please keep watching over all of us, your kids and grandkids. Bendición.

  1. And I am still sorry for your loss.

I remember that it launched you into a nursing career, though, and set off the chain of events that landed you where you are now, with your wonderful wife and beautiful children. You made good of it.
