Yay, it arrived today from the repair shop. Except the system still did not recognize the CD drive, much as when it left. But they did repair the monitor, which hadn’t work since late May. And after 8 transfers within Dell’s Cust Serv call center I ended up with a great dude in El Salvador who actually cared enough to help me out. We had to do a full System Reinstall (oh, how it hurts) but it’s now working great. I mean, I have 3 years of updates and programs to install, but eh, no biggie. I’m just glad to have my laptop back. πŸ™‚
